If you run any websites or services that use PHP, you will need to take action if you have not already done so. This may mean taking the affected services offline until they are patched.

If you are a resident or a business using online services, please note that organisations taking prompt action to resolve these vulnerabilities may result in some services being unavailable for a period of time.

This is necessary because exploits are already available that would allow hackers to take advantage of this problem. This type of short term disruption is something we can expect more of with the speed of AI.
